Parent Teacher Education Committee
As a follow up to the Math University Night that we held earlier this year, the teachers have put together screencasts of the new Envision curriculum at each grade level. The videos walk through "a day in the life" of math in your child's classroom. They can be found here, if you are interested in learning more about the math curriculum in your child's classroom.
D15 Community Closet
District 15 schools are always collecting clothing for our district families through our Community Closet! Tis the season, though, that coats, hats, scarves and gloves are needed the most. Please consider donating your lightly used clothing to this wonderful cause that helps so many local families! There is a collection bin just inside the doorway at Marion Jordan or any D15 school buildings.
FUNDRAISING THE EASY WAY
Don't forget that while you're shopping, you can easily donate to Marion Jordan's PTA by shopping through smile.amazon.com. Simply select "Marion Jordan PTA" as your organization the first time you visit the site, and Amazon will donate a percentage of your purchase to our school! It's that easy!
READ TO SUCCEED:
Students earn a free ticket to Six Flags by completing 6 hours of recreational reading: books, magazines, newspaper or comic books-no homework or class assignments. If your child already fills out a reading log for class, they can use those books for the Read to Succeed log. For our younger MJ readers, parent and child reading together can also be counted on log.
This is a great incentive to do some reading over winter break. Program will take place Dec.19, 2016 - Jan. 23, 2017.
