Report an Absence

Please give your child’s name, room number, and a brief description of illness, if infectious.

Marion Jordan has an absence verification procedure. You, the parent, are to call the school “Absence Recorder Number” at (847) 963-5501 by 8:00 a.m. if your child is going to be late or absent on a school day. Note that this is different from the regular school number.

If a parent call has not been received, the school will attempt to notify the absentee’s parents. Parents may call the absence recorder number any time after school hours the day before the absence. Please give your child’s name, room number, and a brief description of illness, if infectious. The school should always be advised of all cases of communicable diseases (measles, mumps, head lice, etc.). Notice of exposure will be sent to parents.

Parents wishing to get make-up work for absent students may leave a message on the Absence Recorder or call the school office and arrange to pick up work as close to 3:00 p.m. as possible. Please be sure to call early enough so that the teacher can prepare it. For those children who take vacation trips during school time, District 15 policy states that no homework is given in advance, but the student is responsible for making up work upon his/her return to school.
