Should you be interested in having your child participate in an
interview for the instrumental program please fill out the form
that came home from school and have your child return it to his/her
classroom or comprehensive music teacher. The instrumental instructor
will set up an interview with your child to select the most suitable
instrument. Students may interview for both orchestra and band.
The results of the interview will be sent home soon after the interview. Instrument
selection must be made at this time.
If your child wishes to participate in the district instrumental
music program, please plan to attend one of the following meetings.
MJ meets on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at 7:00pm at Lincoln School,
1021 Ridgewood Lane, Palatine. We find that a child’s success
is directly related to a parent’s involvement, so your attendance
at this meeting is critical.
Also included will be information concerning approved instruments
and recommended dealers. Please refer to this information when
reserving an instrument for the fall. In order for your child to
be successful, he/she must have a reliable instrument from a reputable
dealer. If you have a family-owned instrument that you wish your
child to use, please contact the instrumental teacher at your child’s
school for an evaluation of the instrument.
