having a fantastic summer...it goes by so fast! And as we look to the Fall
(already?!), we want you to be aware of some August/September dates:

Day of School, Kindergarten
Fri., August 28: PTA Meeting, 1:45 p.m.
Tues., September 1: Fun Run Assembly
Fri., September 4: Room Parent Meeting, 11:00 a.m.
Wed., September 9: Board
of Education Meeting, 7:00 p.m.
Thurs., September 10: Newcomers’
Event, 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Parent Orientation, 6:00 p.m.
If you
would like to continue receiving these types of
updates by email and our e-Jordanaire, please fill out your name
and email address on the enclosed PTA directory/member form (you do NOT have to
be a member to receive these).
Also, if
you’d like to get involved with the PTA
so that you’re more involved with:

your child’s education: mini-courses, B.E.A.R. (Be
Excited About Reading), Young Authors, Environmental Awareness, Health and Safety, S.P.A.R.K. (Special
Education Parents Accessing Resources & Knowledge), School Assemblies, Book
Fair, Kindergym, Reflections, etc.;
·
with the MJ community: MJ cares, family events (Fall
Fest, MJ nite at the Y, Dads and Donuts, Moms and Muffins, Gym Jamz nites),
Teacher Appreciation, Kids Helping Kids, Parent Education, Room Parents,
Directory, Jordanaire (MJ newsletter), Yearbook, Sixth Grade committee, etc. or
·
fundraising: Market Day, Manna, Fun Run
(maybe even an MJ cookbook!), etc.

love to have you! You can just fill out the enclosed Committee Interest form.

Finally,
if you’re new to MJ, the objectives of the MJPTA and national PTA are:

to
promote the welfare of children/youth in home, school, community and place of
worship
·
to
raise the standards of home life
·
to
secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children/youth
·
to
bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers
may cooperate intelligently in the education of children/youth
·
to
develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will
secure for all children/youth the highest advantages in physical, mental,
social and spiritual education
