Ways and Means
Fundraising Objectives for the 2010-2011
School Year
The PTA will spend approximately
$54 per child this year on the many educational and other programs and events that
we either sponsor or support. We have been mindful to cut our budget where we could,
but student enrollment has declined as well leaving the amount we spend per child
nearly the same as in past years. We hope you will agree that our programs are worth
your continued support. Our Board is aware that Fund-raising puts a burden on our
families and our volunteers. We are working very hard to make Fund-raising as painless
as possible by reducing our budget where we can, by keeping our fund-raisers to a minimum,
and by limiting our fund-raisers to those that offer high value or quality, convenient
substitutions for items that you would purchase routinely elsewhere.
There are several ways you
can support the fundraising efforts of the PTA at Marion Jordan:
Direct Donation
- make a tax-deductible donation to the PTA at the start of the school year (
click here to get our Direct Donation Form);
First Annual Blue Jay Shuffle (formerly the Fun Run) - A fun and healthy approach to Fund-raising.
Students obtain pledges from family and friends and walk or run to their favorite
music.
Great American Products - An opportunity to purchase holiday items with delivery on November 30.
The products include wrapping paper, magazines, chocolates, gifts for the kitchen, jewelry, cards
and more.
Manna Gift Card Program - purchase gift cards as gifts or for everyday use
and earn a percent of the profit for our school at no extra cost to you;
Market Day Monthly Grocery Program – purchase convenient, quality foods while returning
a percent of the profit to our school;
Raffle/Silent Auction - Donate items for our silent auction or bid on raffle baskets
that are assembled by each individual grade at our annual Fun Fair family event,
March 11.
If you would like to become
more involved in our fundraising efforts or donate an item or service toward
our Fun Fair Raffle/Auction, feel free to contact Christine Fiore
or Rose Jusi as Ways and Means co-chairs.
Alternatively, you can contact Mary Kay Aronson and/or
Alison Silver, PTA
Co-Presidents if you would like to help with any of our other PTA efforts.
