5th Grade/6th Grade Intramurals and 2-Ball

Intramurals

Teacher/Moderator meets with a group of 50 or so fifth and sixth grade students on Thursday mornings at 7:20am. At the start of every intramural session, the kids vote for which of 3 games they wanted to play. The game that gets the majority of the votes is the game that is played that week. Occasionally, the group organizes tournaments as well. This is a great opportunity for kids to have fun in the morning.

2-Ball for Boys and Girls

12 sixth grade girls and 12 sixth grade boys shoot basketballs from designated spots to qualify for a district-wide competition. They have two one-minute time slots to score as many points as they can. The top ten students from MJ form teams. Each player partners with another to advance to the district 2-Ball Competition. The girls pair from MJ won 1st in 2006 and 3rd in 2007!!
