2012 Mini-Course Registration

Starts Mon., December 5 and ends Fri. December 16.

Mini-Courses are being held from January 9th through March 23rd during recess and provide an alternative to playing outside during the winter months.   Participants are selected by lottery.   This year, there are two ways to register for your classes.

 Both registration options will close on Friday, December 16th.  Please return your forms or complete your online submission by that date.

 To better accommodate the individual needs of your child, please give the following information below:

 My child needs to sit at the Peanut Free Table at lunchtime.

 My child cannot attend classes on certain days of the week because of other commitments.  Please indicate these specific days, dates and times below:

 

Please mark your choices in order of preference:  (1 thru 5), 1 being the most desired course.  Because of the limited space in each class, each student will be allowed to attend a maximum of 3 mini-courses, but can select up to 5 mini-courses to ensure getting into some of his/her preferred classes.

 ***Please note that there is an additional $7 fee if your child takes “Ceramic Painting”.  This fee will cover materials from Color Me Mine.  Please do not send in money until your child has been confirmed in the class roster.

Conduct simple experiments with basic ingredients found at home.

 

Cupcake Wars

Use your decorating techniques to create a cupcake masterpiece.

 

Yoga

Learn basic yoga movements to help you get in shape.

 

Paper Airplanes

Make multiple paper airplane designs and send them into flight.

 

Bracelet Making

Use your skills to make a "one of a kind" keepsake.

 

Cars 2 Fun

Have fun making Cars 2 pillow case and banner while playing games.

 

Ocean Adventures

Learn about under water creatures and make a craft,

 

Therapy Dog

Meet a real therapy dog and learn about how they are trained to help people in need.

 

Dodgeball

Get ready for a fun game of dodgeball against your friends.

 

Badminton

Learn the basics of playing badminton,

 

Tea Party (1-3)

Bring your favorite stuffed animal or doll to a tea party with refreshments and a craft.

 

Turtle Time

Have fun with real turtles and learn all about them.

 

Magic

Learn the secrets of card magic from a real magician

 

Positive Strokes

Learn to draw and sketch with an artist.

 

Crocheting

You will learn to crochet and make a granny square.

 

Snakes & More

Come see and learn all about different snakes in existence.

 

***Ceramic painting

Have fun painting a ceramic tile with Color Me Mine. ***(this class has a $7 fee payable when confirmed in class)

 

Hip Hop Dance

Break, lock and pop to your favorite hip-hop music.  Learn basic moves so you can freestyle on your own.

 

Learning Chinese

Learn to speak simple phrases and write your name in Chinese calligraphy.
